About The Author

Tim Hurd lives near the mouth of the Columbia River, a landscape that continues to shape and inspire his fiction. He began his studies at UC Berkeley, where a shift from Business to English and ultimately to Creative Writing—set the course for his literary path. He later earned his BA from CSU Sacramento and pursued advanced studies in Creative Writing at Pacific University, further refining his skills and voice as a writer.

Hurd’s work is recognized for its emotional resonance and deep social awareness. In Starla, he brings to life a powerful journey of resilience, identity, and sisterhood. A playwright as well as the founder of Columbia River Coffee Roaster and The River Theater, Hurd remains devoted to stories that illuminate the overlooked and underrepresented corners of the human experience.
